About Matsue Castle

Matsue Castle was built by Horio Yoshiharu during the Edo period, and because it has not been damaged, it is still in the same shape as it was then. It is one of twelve castle towers in Japan and is also called Chidori Castle. In 2015, it was designated as a national treasure. If you climb up to the watchtower on the top floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Matsue and Lake Shinji.
